Common Questions from First-Time Clients

If you're new to Pilates — or to Swan — here’s what most people ask us:

Do I need experience to start Pilates at Swan?

No prior experience needed - we welcome beginners as well as highly experienced Pilates movers. Our Teachers will meet you where you are and guide to where you want to go

What should I wear to my first session?

Wear comfortable, stretchy clothes you can move in — similar to yoga or gym wear.

What kind of Pilates do you offer?

Pilates at Swan is taught through the lens of internationally recognized schools of Pilates Our teachers received their Comprehensive Pilates Education from one or both of the following schools, Fletcher Pilates and or Basi Pilates.

The Comprehensive Curriculum includes Mat Pilates and certification on all of the equipment designed by Joseph Pilates: Cadillac, Tower, Reformer, Wunda Chair, Spine Corrector, Ped-i-pull, Ladder Barrel, and Arm Chair.  Comprehensive Certifications include auxillary equipment and modalities such as the FreeForm Boards, Magic Circle, Fletcher Towel, and Fletcher Floorwork.

Swan Teachers have received extensive specialty training including Basi Pilates Injuries and Pathologies, McEntire Pilates Arcus Bar Hip and Knee Pathology certifications. Swan Teachers never quit learning so they can bring the "right kind of Pilates" for each person.

Is Pilates safe for injuries or joint pain?

Yes! Our certified instructors are trained to work with clients recovering from injury or managing chronic pain. We tailor movements to support healing and avoid aggravation. Swan Teacher have extensive specialty Pilates Training addressing Injuries and Pathologies, Hip and Knee concerns including joint replacement.

What makes Swan Pilates different from other studios?

The Swan Pilates culture is client-centric and anatomy focused. We don't do one-size-fits-all. You are a unique multi-dimensional individual. Your goals are our goals.

How many people are in a small group class?

Small group classes are never more than 4 people with one teacher.

What if I have a specific goal, like posture or balance?

We've got you! All of the Swan Teachers are prepared to meet your goals whether is improving posture and balance or training for a triathlon.

Where are you located and is there parking?

We’re located in Oro Valley at the SW corner of 1st Ave and Tangerine, behind Walgreen's, between Subway Sandwich and Anytime Fitness, address: 11901 North 1st Ave, Suite 155. We're on the ground floor and there’s plenty of easy access free parking right outside the studio

Are there any rules I need to know?

Yes, Swan Pilates is a fragrance free facility. Please refrain from using scented body and hair products or perfumes and colognes.

Does Swan Pilates have an app?

Yes, Swan Pilates has a free branded app where you can schedule and buy sessions as well see your appointment calendar. Simply search for Swan Pilates is either Google Play or the App Store. Look for the Studio's logo and you're all set.

Can I drop in to a class?

No, all sessions, including classes are by appointment only. You can schedule a session by following any of the Book a Class buttons on the site or send the Studio a text or call: 520-297-7070. We are eager to meet you and be apart of your Pilates Life.

What type of payment do you accept?

Swan Pilates accepts Zelle, USD cash, and credit cards.
